I only access the mail store using Thunderbird on the Mac. In Thunderbird I have created filters to sort the email into the 250+ folders but some of the filters sometimes do not run. As a result I would like to enable iCloud storage of the email after Gmail as iCloud does server sorting of email as opposed to single client I have now.
Alternatively its just to get the local server connected, updated and working and implement Procmail and transfer the filters. If the VM 'server' cannot connect to the local network or Internet, I cannot send email from Thunderbird as the Sent mail cannot be added to the IMAP 'server' mailstore. I could set it up to retrieve from Gmail but then that would put the VM 'server and my local copy in Thunderbird in disarray. What I seek is a remote support session via TeamViewer or Logmein to get the VM connected to the net adapter based on the Mac ie it was initially configured to use the wireless connection and the Mac would use the Ethernet conx.
This will enable me to send waiting email and update local Thunderbird offline store as well as download the 800+ emails waiting for retrieval on Gmail. I would also like to be able to access the Maildir mailstore from Mac Mail regardless if on Mac or iOS phone/tablet. The mailstore/server also needs updating to 18.04, without the loss the current mailstore, with the configuration of Getmail and initial Procmail.
If I can use gvim to add recipes to the procmail file, this would be great, as would a commented out recipe example. Please advise rate per hour for remote support as I am based in Cape Town on a 1Gb fibre line.
