VueScan is compatible with the HP Officejet J4580 on Windows x86, Windows x64, Windows RT, Windows 10 ARM, Mac OS X and Linux. 
You need to install the driver to use this scanner on Windows x86. You can use this scanner on Mac OS X and Linux without installing any other software.
On Linux, you need to set up libusb device protections. VueScan uses in-scanner JPEG compression with this scanner to scan faster. You can turn this off by setting 'Input| Fine mode'.
HP sold this scanner in some countries as the Officejet J4500 / Officejet J4524 / Officejet J4525 / Officejet J4535 / Officejet J4540 / Officejet J4550 / Officejet J4560 / Officejet J4580c / Officejet J4585.
