IEntertainment Network on Tuesday announced the release of, a World War I combat flight simulator that’s based on the MGM movie Flyboys. It costs $29.95 and should be available soon at Apple retail stores. IEntertainment is the same company that developed the popular World War II massively multiplayer online game WarBirds, and Flyboys incorporates some of the same elements — the game, which will be available on retail shelves, features the ability to compete online with hundreds of other players as you dogfight in the skies of Europe in vintage World War I aircraft. The game and movie were inspired by the story of the Lafayette Escadrille, a squadron of the French Air Service that saw combat during World War I. The unit comprised mainly American volunteer pilots, who joined before the United States’ official entry into the war.
